Army Veteran Matt Goff Announces Campaign for State House
November 10, 2025
Retired Army Colonel Will Run as a Republican for District 9
SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Matt Goff, a longtime resident of Northwest Arkansas, Army Colonel (Ret.), and small business owner, filed his paperwork today to run for the Arkansas House of Representatives in District 9, which covers East Springdale.
“I am not a politician,” said Goff. “I am a career Soldier. Service to the Nation and to the Military members and families within my area of influence is what I understand best. The transition from serving the country to serving the State of Arkansas is an easy step.
As an Army Officer, I spent time focused on Soldiers and their families, assessing their needs, providing resources and helping them to succeed in the often challenging environment of military service, both at home station and deployed to combat. As a Chaplain, I was an advocate for Soldiers and their families to the commander and staff. As the Representative for District 9, I will do the same, seeking to know and understand the needs of individuals, families and businesses I represent, and advocate for those needs at the Capitol.”
Goff’s platform is focused on five key areas: support for Law Enforcement and First Responders, quality education without indoctrination, respect and support to Veterans, affordable housing, and small business success.
